Medical Imaging has seen tremendous growth in
the past decade due to advances in instrumentation and evolution of
computers. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of medical imaging,
there is a
heightened interest in the recent times, making it one of the most
promising areas of research and development. This workshop aims to
present new frontiers of medical imaging both from clinical as well as
engineering prospective. Lectures both from clinicians/radiologists and
researchers working in areas related to medical imaging will highlight
the recent developments in medical imaging.
The main objectives of this workshop
are:
- Present new
frontiers/developments in medical imaging
- Develop knowledge to understand
the important challenges in medical imaging, especially that are
relevant to clinic
- Impart necessary skills and
awareness to understand the medical images
Topics that will be covered in
this workshop include:
- Basics of Medical Image formation
- Nuclear Medical Imaging (PET) in the clinic
- Frontiers of MRI
- Neuro imaging
- Recent trends in Medical Imaging
- Image guided therapy.
